I dont have that cash and wont get paid till after those 7 days are expired.

ring and tell them this and see if they'll let you split it into monthly payments you can afford. 9 times out of 10 they're not bothered as long as you're willing to pay and do pay

Exactly and that is a good point, unless of course op deliberately lied … Exactly and that is a good point, unless of course op deliberately lied of course then that in itself would be fraudulent.

If you go to a shop and say yeah I'm 18 sell me alcohol they still have to check your ID to be within the law

Did you lie about your age on the application for the account?

Yes - I stated that I was 18 when I opened my paypal accoount - Hence Y i see it best to just pay and get it closed.

Dude, ur under 18 and gettin DEBT letters sent to your home, remember that your also putting your parents at risk with this, you live there and use that address - they pay for the house most likely!

Plus you legally lied, and thats on record...

    Not good.

credit records are based on the individual not adresses

They'll just go to mum and dad because they're responsible for you. So best to keep it quiet and pay yourself.

What have you been buying to make urself go minus in ur funds...?

If you are under 18, it is a criminal offence for anyone to send you material inviting you to borrow money or obtain goods or services on credit or hire purchase. However, if you are over 14 but under 18, you can enter into a credit or hire purchase agreement if an adult acts as your guarantor.

You can borrow money at any age, but access to loans may be limited because a lender will not usually be able to take a young person to court if they break the terms of a loan. This is because you cannot usually be legally held to a contract you make when you are under 18.

As a child or young person, you cannot normally be taken to court for debt. This is because you cannot be legally held to a contract you make when you are under 18. However, there are some exceptions to this rule. You can be held legally responsible for any debts you run up to buy things that you need like food, shelter or clothing.

You may be in the clear dude you will have to claim being underage.

16 actually, I came here for advice mate. There's 1000's of peeps who are underage owning a paypal account. I juyst had 1 dodgy transaction which was both sides fault to be honest, I refunded, but havent been able to restore my balance due to lack of income. Now i have an income and need 2 pay it off.

Cool you have been getting advice, but you have still admitted on here that you lied and stole... Doesn't sound good.

big fuss about nothing,OP no offence but there are bigger fish to fry, there are people who over tens of thousands, just pay what you can when you can,and dont worry

being a sheep isn't really much of an excuse, learn the lesson and lose the account and use this to understand the value of not being tempted by credit and getting into debt.

One trick I have learnt is offer to pay them say £5 per week or whatever is left after you have blagged your income/outgoings ratio to a low level, and if they refuse ensure you get this in writing, that way if they tajke it to court the court will do nothing as they ahve already turned an offer to pay down, just make sure you can record that you only have x amount left after all bills have been paid.

Call them and tell them you're getting paid at the end of the month, so you'll be able to complete the payment then.
If you can't afford to pay the whole debt in one lump sum, they'll be willing to accept a portion now and a portion in your next payslip.

These debt agencies just want the money and are willing to be lenient as long as you're not taking the P.

I hope that helps and don't worry, you'll be ok but be careful with debt, as it's easy to get carried away.

I think you should ring them and tell them you are under 18, say you are willing to pay, but not in 2 instalments. Tell you you can pay in 6 instalments, either that, or they can spin for their money... should work! lol

    tinkerbell28;4629566

Again they won't as the debt technically is not inforcable in law. They … Again they won't as the debt technically is not inforcable in law. They could however take action against the op for making a dodgy application. So I would agree just pay up what they ask tbh.

They did to me as mum and dad are my guardians and they threatened w/ bailiffs or w/e
