Decent rechargable digital camera for under £100

    Hi,

I'm looking for a decent digital camera for under £100. I find a load of good deals on Play.com, who advertise them as having rechargable batteries but when looking up the specs on specialist websites they turn out to need 2xAAs.

Any heads up on decent camera deal would be most appreciated.

    Thanks,
    P

    Try this one: amazon.co.uk/Fuj…8-1

Bought two for the kids for xmas, they're pretty decent and rechargeable.

    What's wrong with rechargeable AA's?

Surely this is more practical than an inbuilt battery that can't be used whilst charging.

Rechargeable AA's have very limited life in a digital camera, and overall charge time deteriorates quite quickly. whereas a Lithium battery will last for ages, and deteriorates very slowly.

I have had both and would never bother with AA batteries again

barnaby got my daughter the fuji in pink for xmas, is it a pretty good camera? also i had one that took rechargable batteries and it was crap after the first few pics they needed recharging again

I have Energizer's in my camera and they last a fair while, the good thing is though if they do run out you can replace (spare rechargeables or normal) and carry on. If a rechargeable camera runs out you are snookered. But each to their own I suppose.

Worth while bearing in mind that you can get lithium rechargable AAs now I believe. If you get decent rechargables they will last a while....

I got the Pink ones too for my two girls. This camera has good reviews, i've had various makes before but really like the Fuji camera's.

you know you can take out extra warranty via fuji, thinks its about £12 for 3 yrs on top of your 1 yr, and can be done up untill the 1 yr, think will see if the camera is any good first

Got to disagree, I use 2 eneloop AA's my Canon Powershot A720is and prbably get about 300 shots from a set before having to replace with the spare set that I keep charged up in it's case. The only negative aspect of using AA's that I can see are that the cameras tend to be a bit more bulky (although I actually prefer that with my big hands) and the flash recharge time suffers a bit. However for the convenience of being able to buy batteries off the shelf to save embarrassment in an emergency (As I did at a wedding a couple of years ago) I'd much rather have AA's.
