Deliveroo scam refund be careful!

Deliveroo do not refund gift card credit automatically, you need to live chat to get it refunded.

Grocery order, Paid with: £7 off £15 + £5 topcashback deliveroo gift card credit + remaining on credit card. Order was cancelled by grocery store and processed for refund.

The credit card amount and £7 off £15 voucher were refunded fully. The £5 from the gift card was not. I had to get to live chat to force them to even notice it and then apply the credit to my account. Took 15 minutes.

Check your Deliveroo cancellations and refunds, they are not being processed correctly.

It is fashionable to use the words "scam" or "rip off" these days for far too many things. In this case, while not a scam, making sure the refund is processed correctly is extra work. (edited)

How is it not a scam? They don’t refund your £5 until you contact them, while the message they send is you will get an automatic full refund. That is literally a textbook definition of a scam.

Deliveroo claim gift cards can only be used once, even if your order is cancelled, not accepted or technical difficulties so they don’t refund the gift card which is plain weird and against consumer laws.

It then seems to require an investigation to get the money back, but I am sure many will lie down and accept the first answer of not getting their money back.

Best advice is never buy another deliveroo gift card ever

Yes it happened to me, did live chat was told wait 36 hours, didn't receive the gift card refund, had to contact them again on live chat, was told to wait another 24 hours, only them got the giftcard refund to my account.
