Delivery driver delivered my tv to somebody else & they signed my signature

Found 26th Feb 2009
I ordered a new tv from Great Universal and was given a delivery date. When this date passed i called to find out what the problem was. I was advised that i had refused the delivery and it had been returned to Great Universal. I didn't refuse anything or have any form of contact and i told them this and re-ordered the tv. After lots of promised delivery dates and nothing i called again to be told my tv had been delivered and signed for 3 days earlier. The company has the correct address and tel no (i have checked and double checked this). The delivery driver must have gone to the wrong address on both occasions because he has never been to my house. I am having trouble getting to the bottom of it all but the driver had delivered my tv to the wrong place, the people must of seen the name on the order as they have signed my name but the driver maintains he delivered to the correct address. I have been trying to speak to the delivery co (also part of the Littlewoods group based at Gatwick as i wanted the driver to drive to the address he delivered to and then call me but i can't get any details or any help). My next move will be to call the Police as this is fraud.
HELP please!

ring police....let them sort it

defintely call he police....

police

I wouldn't worry too much as your signature gonna be different to the signature they got. But of course call the police.

i wouldnt think it was an issue for the police. as them for a proof of signiture, it clearly wont be yours. i would suggest its up to the company to sort out. maybe a dodgy driver getting away with a free tv, or someone has signed for it and kept quite.

Not me,,,Honest,,,

The driver may be faking a signature for a scam anyway. Unless there is a tracker in the van you and the company will never know. Call the police - report it - GET A CRIME NUMBER and then get back onto the company telling them the police are involved - quote the crime number to them and then ask them for proof and tell them you dispute any bill and will take it as far as you need to. Get names, dates and make sure you keep a record of everything

If you ordered via credit card - I'd let them resolve it.

happened to my mate before with expensive fishing stuff he just rang the police and they sorted it all out got his money back

ring them now

Can you delete that and write something useful else you're just trolling ;-)

Signatures are rarely checked for verification. I've always just done a scribble when asked to sign something and I've been alright (except for bank related stuff but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a scribble then). I think signatures are only checked if something goes wrong.

this was no longer an active thread when it was posted and I have already provided a serious answer....so care to explain WHY its trolling?

I think you'll find what your doing is trolling....added to the other responses I have seen from you lately, I'm 100% sure that is what your doing

This happened to me ages ago, I could even track the signature back and see it online and it wasn't even my name scribbled down. I got my money back but they did make me wait quite a while for it. Have they given you a tracking number so you can check what it looks like? It's their fault that they haven't managed to get the TV to the correct person so don't worry it will get sorted out. Before you ring the police I would ring Great Universal and let them know that you are taking it further, they may try and resolve it if they think the police may get involved and that way thay know you have nothing to hide. You would hardly be ringing the police if the TV was sat in your lounge Good luck, let us know how you get on.

You looked up my previous, that's stalking behaviour. Now I've informed the mod's of your stalker behaviour. Treat this as a warning that stalking is not acceptable in life or on the internet = serious business!

Well the Police were not v interested they said i should let the catalogue company complete their investigation and if the result is not what i want, then go back to the police. In the meantime we managed to get hold of the depot number and spoke to the manager who is bringing the driver and himself to my house on Monday. I am having a friend attend posing as me to see what comments the driver makes, that is if he has the balls to turn up.

good idea that

had a friend have an item go missing, driver said he had handed it to her personally

when she asked his manager to get him to describe her he couldnt. The item was also registed to her dad and had STRICT instructions to ONLY be given to him. He also signed it in her dads initials with MISS at the front of it

silly man!

Police, def!

Also just request a trace on the product, a copy of the signature etc.....

Goood luck

Is that really a good idea?

Accusing a company of falsely claiming to have delivered goods by having someone falsely claim to be you?

If the delivery driver turns up and recognises my friend as the person that they delivered the tv to, then they will show themselves to be the liar that they are. Somebody has a my TV and if they are accusing me of being a thief this is a way to prove my innocence.

ah good call, but then you turn up and go ha! it wasn't him it was me! then he just insists no it was defiantly your mate he delivered to then accuses you both of colluding to steal the TV.

I can see your point, not sure whether that is such a good idea now. I don't think they will turn up though, would you?.

I wouldnt try to catch them out by manipulating the situation if i were you as you could get into big trouble that way.

if they dont turn up or they turn up and say they delivered it to you, you'll know they're being false and u go straight to the police.

If they say.. wasn't you.. then i guess its the police anyway!

Tell the truth. Once you start lying, you are batting on a sticky wicket.

Let's say you jump out from behind the door, and the manager doesn't believe you. Next stop is to the local police again. The Police then ask the manager, and he tells them what happened, the Police will not know who to believe. Sum result, no goods, no money returned.

Do not take advice from people "Off the interweb".
