    Dell Question

    Hi all,

Just got a couple of questions regarding Dell and what they offer.

Basically, I'm looking to buy a base unit this week, and I've had my eye on a Dell Inspiron, with upgraded 4GB Ram for around £379.

But then I've just gone through the Small business section, and they're offering this for a similar price.
    configure.euro.dell.com/del…bsd

That link may not work, but the components are as follows:
    PROCESSOR Intel® Core2 Duo E7300 processor (2.66GHz, 1066MHz, 3MB cache)
OPERATING SYSTEM Genuine Windows Vista Business with Service Pack 1, 32-bit - English
    MICROSOFT SOFTWARE Microsoft® Works 9.0 - English
MONITOR Dell UltraSharp 1909W Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor Black (TCO03) UK/Irish
    MEMORY 4096MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x2048]
HARD DRIVE 500GB (7200rpm) Serial ATA Hard Drive with 16MB DataBurst cache
GRAPHICS CARD 256MB ATI® Radeon HD 3450 graphics card
OPTICAL DRIVE 16x DVD +/- RW Drive
KEYBOARD Dell Entry Quietkey USB Keyboard - UK/Irish (QWERTY)

Now, I'm puzzled with the monitor bit, it says it includes a flat pannelled monitor, but surely this is too good to be true for under £400?

I've also heard that there's someway around getting stuff from the Dell business site?

Cheers for any replies on the matter.

    Appreciate it, Andy.

this is an excelent deal and this includes a 19inch monitor i got a pc from dell last year and it said that my monitor was inclued for the price and indeed it was it is good deal from dell but only has a 300 watt power supply dont know if this is a problem for you if u may want to add a better Graphics Card you may be limited i have a 305 watt 22amp power supply in my dell and i have a Nvidia xfx7900GS in it works no problems but if you want a better Graphics Card then you need a better power supply

The price you quote is correct but don't forget to add shipping and VAT. Comes to £453 (free delivery) in total. Have a look at Dell outlet you can pick up some bargains there. Do'nt forget to factor in about £100 for a decent monitor as most of them come without.
    Hope this helps.

Re business site. I think you just put your name in the company name box. I don't think it's a problem.

    Cheers for the reply mate.

It's just quite unclear as it doesn't actually have a picture or anything of this monitor, or state the size.
Obvious problem is, is that it's from Dell Business, and not sure how that works.

Dell business will surely be only be available to businesses? So it will be minus the 15% VAT. To order you will have to have your business number. Which i am guessing you havent got. You'd have to register a business which costs £3000+ within itself. Soo...

Yeah, I'm sure people have bought from Dell Business in the past without being businesses.
