It includes MS Office 2003 on a student licence and 3 years on-site warranty, but seems pricey at £722.50. I was hoping to spend less than that on a PC for my son and I'd appreciate any comments from PC experts! Thanks

Do you have a model number and type, say Dimension 9150 for instance or an Ecode to order with as that would help to see if this is a good deal.
It also seems from the text below that you may have a choice of desktops/laptops from which to pick with up to 25% off.
Do you have a list?
Considering the 3yrs warranty and MS Office that doesnt seem too bad a deal to me, though if its more than you wanted to pay perhaps another system would meed the budget better.

SCI provides a complete student solution including a choice of PCs … SCI provides a complete student solution including a choice of PCs (notebooks or desktops, in wide range of specifications), Microsoft Office Professional software (providing all of the applications you are likely to need) and next day on-site maintenance support (so if you do have any problems an engineer will visit you to sort them out). As you would expect, the solutions also include McAffee Antivirus software and a range of further options including theft insurance, peripherals and accessories.

Hi Mike. Thanks for the quick reply. The model is a Dell OptiPlex GX620. There is a choice of computers, but all bar this one are laptops. I was hoping to pay a bit less, but, of course, the MS Office is over £100 on it's own, even the student edition. Thanks again for your help.

Without the student discount and without office this configuration costs £969 on Dells pages, take off the discount at 25% and it still costs more than your being quoted with office.
I will take a look to see if any others in the dimension range can reduce the cost but you will still need to add student office at £100 to the cost and 3yrs NBD warranty doesnt come cheap.

Edit: I have had a scout and I cant better the price with 3yr NBD and student office, the alternative is to look at the laptops if they are cheaper
