Yeah im aware 32bit only lets you use 3.5gb, i think im more future proofing at this stage, just got into team fortress 2 thanks to sainsburys deal and i think its about time i upgraded lol. Thanks for suggesting OCZ though, thats what my gut instinct was telling me

As always, rep added

Ok i think im going for OCZ as it has more reviews, not sure if thats the best way of selecting ram but Meh, nevermind lol

They are a brilliant company - work it all out for you and are often cheaper. (You input the details of your puter or they scan it) Plus they have a good support line if you have problems. My not very geekish brother-in-law used them at my suggestion, saved over a tenner and now has a faster puter.

Good luck!

Personally I wouldn't look at Crucial RAM.

OCZ is good RAM and the deal you mention is a good one. Other top makes of RAM are: -

Corsair (the best RAM IMO),
OCZ and
GEIL.

If you post your motherboard and CPU make and model will be able to tell you more, you may be able to get a better spec RAM which is quicker depending on what speed RAM your motherboard can take.

Mobo is Gigabyte GA-MA57SLI-S4, Processor is a measly AMD Athlon 64 x2 4600+

Yeah OCZ is better than crucial. Think my mobo can take upto DDR2 800mhz

I didnt order in the end last night due to insufficient funds, so i should be ordering tonight and so if anyone else has any thoughts then please do feel free to add them

Thankyou

I speak as I find and have ordered myself and had, at a quick count, over half a dozen people I know who use it successfully.
Your reason for decrying them? Should girlies not have geeky views? lol

No im in no way bad mouthing crucial they are a very good memory manufacturer, im just after some more zing for my money, this RAM is very good for gaming and high drain apps which is what i need it for, also crucial are not offering me very good prices so the OCZ type offers are tempting me more. Just to reitterate my point though, as far as i am aware there is nothing wrong with crucial memory or there website i just want some premium RAM as it seems to be cheap at the moment, i have repped you for trying though and i really am appreciative of your suggestions!

Thanks

Fair enough!
