The higher the class, the quicker the speed, but I don't know if this is the read, or the write speed.

Find out what the maximum speed of what your camera can take pictures, the write speed is important. If you get anything faster than your camera can use, you are wasting your money, as the camera will not utilise the extra speed.

it determines the minimum write speed of the card:

* Class 2: 2 MB/s
* Class 4: 4 MB/s
* Class 6: 6 MB/s

ive had a look and cant see if there is a minimum recommended class level, bascially you want to go for the fastest one you can afford but one that also offers good capacity. problem with the class 2 card is that if you take a full 8mp picture and then immediately want to take another you may not be able to as the image will still be writing to the card.

looks like a good camera though, certainly gets a good review
