Difference between sovereign (Homebase) and Challenge (Argos) petrol mowers?

Found 26th Apr 2013
I'm looking to buy a self propelled petrol lawn mower this weekend, unfortunately I am unable to find a cracking deal.

I have found one within budget from Homebase, Sovereign Petrol Self-propelled Rotary Mower 149.3cc (£169.99). However, I have found one from Argos, Challenge Xtreme Petrol Lawnmower 149.3cc (£149.99)

Does anyone know if Sovereign and Challenge mowers made by the same company as the specs are identical (apart from the colour), just not sure if it's worth paying the extra £20 to homebase as the Sovereign has more reviews

Any help would be appreciated.

I think that Argos and Homebase are owned by the same company (they used to be anyway when I worked for Homebase a few years ago). I suspect that the two mowers will be the same base unit made by one company just with different badges on.
I have found this with a similar spec to the ones you posted and it is slightly less money:

Or this one works out even cheaper:

Thank you for looking but those two are push mowers rather than self propelled mowers (i'm not 100% sure what the difference is, I just know I need self propelled due to the garden size).

Thank you, that's what I thought. However, I've just noticed some subtle differences in the dimensions and weight.
