    difference in bravia models

    Hi we have a Sony KDL40V3000 and looking at buying another one for the kids, but i have noticed another model for 50 quid more the Sony KDL40D3500U. Can i assume 3500 is higher than 3000, so a better tv please?

    It's very confusing isn't it!

    40 = screen size
    V = Series (further down the alphabet the higher spec. Highest is X)
    3000 = model (Increases with a new model)

    The letter after the 40 (screen size) denotes the specification. KDL40X3000 being the highest spec (best 40inch model). The 3000 part is the series which is updated, so 3000 is older than 3500

    So a D series (KDL40D3500) is a lower spec model, than the KDL40V3000, which is an older but higher spec model. Infact, I think the D series is a bit poor, not sure the panel is even made by Sony.

    Hope this makes sense and is helpful.

    What a star!!!! We've got two 26" models for kitchen and bedroom and now looking for a new 32 or 40 inch for livingroom. Thanks SO much for the fantastic description - Sony's website could do with a little help from you!!

    Cheers!
