Digital bathroom scales

How accurate are they?
Got a set for xmas, they seem to be faulty. I weigh myself stand off get back on and I lose 6lb or so. Fantastic if it were true! Changed the batteries, put them on carpet, laminate etc still the same.
Bought another set as they were on offer in Argos (diff ones) and these also seem to do the same kind of thing!
Where am I going wrong?
Also will Argos take these back & refund if I tell them they are faulty?
Thanks

lol no, literally step off then 10 secs later back on!
Also it's not 6lb everytime the weights range in total up toapprox a stone either way!

Or do you stand on one leg 2nd time maybe?

Thanks for the replies guys. It seems to be the same if I leave it ten mins or so too, surely both sets can't be faulty!
No prostetic arms/legs etc involved either

its probably your carpet/flooring, try them on solid flooring.
