Digital Camera £100ish

We're off to America on Wednesday morning and I've still not bought a decent digital camera to take with us. I've got about £100 to spend and want something with a rechargeable battery - last Kodak digital camera ate loads of batteries .

I was thinking of a Fuji, but will consider anything as long as it is good quality

The IXUS 70 is one of the best compacts available. It has rechargeable batteries and also an optical viewfinder so you don't have to use the screen to take your pictures if you want to save battery.
This bundle also comes with a printer which you can sell for about £20 if you dont want it.
Very good camera.

thanks, don't know how I missed that thread. Will check Tesco on the way home tonight (I'm sure they had one of these when I was looking last night)

Wait till you get there! Much more bang for your buck!

I love my Ixus - so if you do manage to get one, you won't be disappointed.

Went to California in April with newly bought Fuji S5700. Coped admirably with blazing sun, snow, night shots, close-ups. Anti shake zoom is brilliant but best feature is being able to switch to viewfinder while everyone else is struggling to see anything in their LCDs. Took 2gb worth of pics on one set of 4 batteries and no shot needed deleting or tweaking. lt's not slimline but light and feels comfortable in the hand. Cost £94 from - l love this camera.
