Digital camera for around £150

Found 24th Apr 2011
Hi all.

I'm looking for a half decent camera and have around £150 to spend.

I can't afford an SLR camera and to be honest, don't know enough about photography to be able to use one properly....

However, I'd like to be able to get close in terms of image quality...

I was looking at the canon power shot sx130 is, but before I take the plunge I thought I'd ask some of the brains on here to advise me, if u will!

Thanks

go for a cheap second hand Dslr and LEARN

so much more creative. you will be amazed at the versatility and wish you'd done it earlier.

might be worth looking at the Fuji bridge cameras - some deals on 'ere

but also this (from a certain auction site) .. if you can stump up the extra it'll be well worth it in the long term

Thanks for your advice! I've literally got £150 quid max , so think I'll have to rule out even 2nd hand dslr!

Was looking at the sony hx5v...anyone know about this?

this is same as my camera - bought it about 6 years ago and it's still doing me fine

ebay no 310313379918 - £125 buy it now

or with a lens

110678826972 - £170 buy it now

or try an auction.

Ive just posted a deal for a fab camera for £152 Clicky

i know what you're saying, but,

i have a DSLR, albeit a very old one - first generation Canon with a couple of lenses.

I also have a Panasonic Lunic TZ1, which is fine. For aspects of my job I also use a TZ7.

Both of the TZ's are great little cameras, but they completely lack the versatility and flexibility that a DSLR can bring.

Ultimately, I think the OP needs to have a proper think about what they want from their photography. point and shoot is fine, but to bring out that creative element a DSLR is streets ahead of them

Plus, for me at least, more than half the fun is experimenting, and with a Dslr and some half decent photographic software, the world is your clam.
