Digital cameras suitable for School use?

Found 24th May 2008
Hello all

I have been asked by my childrens school PFTA to see if I can find a deal on some new digital cameras for them.

They are looking at around £100 max, would prefer to pay less (obviously).

They are after a minimum of 4 or could get upto 7 if the price/spec was worth it, if you see what I mean?

I know there have been a couple posted in the last few days, 1 being a 10mp samsung, which is great, but think it might be a bit complicated for primary school age children?

Personally think it needs to be 5mp or more, rechargeable batts, decent make and pretty tough? Hadn't thought whether it would be easier with SD cards or cradle?

So basically, any suggestions?

Is the school collecting the Tesco vouchers? I am sure you can "swap" for digital cameras.
Not able to help with anything else though!

Good camera, but could be a bit complicated - the settings are all 'hidden' behind menu buttons.

For ease of use, I'd probably opt for something with the main control on a wheel (if that makes sense) e.g. the fujifilm F47fd @ £99 also or there might be some Kodak M863 still in stores which were £89.
