My bosch has finally given up the ghost, I have really bad luck with dishwashers they only seem to last 3 or 4 years. So I am looking for a new machine, I would like a decent make, around £250 mark, with a low water usage per cycle (preferably around 13 litres), freestanding, 60cm width. Vouchers, deals and tesco points all considered. :-D

I just wish Dyson would come up with a dishwasher, my dyson washing machine is the greatest appliance in the world

Bosch are supposed to make very reliable dishwashers and come with 2 years warranty - however Siemens are doing an a free 5 year warranty on some of their appliances at the moment siemensappliances.co.uk/?Si…032

But their prices tend to start at around £320

Might be worth thinking about in view of the "Ultimo-dishwasher-curse"

Do you know I had a 2 yr warranty on this last one, and nor word of a lie, 2 days after the warranty expired, the machine broke down and needed a service, some crumby part had broken, it lasted another 2 yrs with a patch job done on it then finally gave up the ghost!!! Sod's law I think its called, however I think its a consiracy, they program the machines to go wrong as soon as the warranty goes!!! :w00t:

I quite like the look of that warranty, and only 11 litres.....hmmm might have to save up a bit more:giggle:

Hmmm...been looking through some of the models on offer. The lower range Hotpoint, Whirpool, Indesits, Beko, Zanussi etc all seem to use about 15-18litres (Tricity Bendix was 24 ltrs!).

The cheapest to use a low amount was a Hoover HOD6615 (13 ltrs) at around £270

They all offer 2 yr warranties though, I spoke to the missus this afternoon and to avoid the 'Ultimo-dishwasher-curse' we love the idea of a 5 yr warranty....just have to save up some more pennies, we have until xmas to purchase. (The missus is just put out she has to get the marrigolds out for a couple of weeks):giggle:

My microwave packed up this week too,I've decided not to replace it and I'm going get a steamer for veg instead, cos can't have enough pans on the stove for everything cos my older one won't have veg and he has beans and the microwave was handy for heating things like beans,so yeh I'm going buy a steamer,Argos have them for 9.99 and I prob could do with getting a couple small mik pans or whatever they called, some small pans without lids anyway.
No room in my kitchen for tumble dryers, dishwashers etc but would be handy to have once in a while.
