disney infinity - 1.0 v 2.0

I have bought my son a Disney Infinity Starter Pack for the Wii (as it was going very cheap) to go alongside his main present of a Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Superheroes starter pack (Wii U).

Can someone let me know which characters will work with which edition (level of backwards compatability) and is it worth giving him both or just the most recent one (with the characters that come from the original). I am also asuming that the Wii version works with the Wii U (as with other games)?

I am very familiar with the way that Skylanders work but it does not seem to be so clear as to what works with which edition when it comes to Disney Infinity.

As reference these are the two sets:




The characters from the Wii set will work on the Wii U set (as 1.0 figures can be used on 2.0, as the figures are agnostic across platforms). However, the 2.0 figures will not work on the Wii software or the baseboard that came with it. I think

thanks for this, do you know if the 1.0 characters have the same playing ability on 2.0, or are they restricted in what they can do?

I believe original figures will work on 2.0 to an extent. I think the originals work in "toy box mode" on 2.0 which from my understanding is not their story mode as they would run in the original. But as you have both versions you shouldn't come across a major problem
