DIY Wireless Burglar alarm systems

Has anybody got any experience of installing, using - tips, advice about wireless burglar alarm systems please?

AUtomatic dialup options - good or bad.

ARe these systems reliable.

Bit 'mickey mouse'


As local burglary levels rise (big time) I am getting more and more concerned.

ANy help and advice welcomed.

had mine about 5 years, never had a problem with it as of yet, replaced batteries every two years, not really sure what else can be said, small batteries in detectors i meant, not the main batteries

dead easy to fit mate. just make sure the motion sensors ans positioned so they cover as much of the room as possible including entrances. normally they will have a code you set to match them all up dont set the numbers to 1111 or anything similar.

I use the BT one and it rings my mobile if it goes off... or if the smoke alarm goes off or if there is a power cut.. which was handy when my electric went off at 5am and the alarm clocks would not have gone off in time for work... so set my mobile instead.

LOL at the way this guy holds an AK-47. Look at his left hand. PMSL. Would do more damage to him than the target if it went off.

I got the BT Home monitor through a link on this site, good bit of kit, although after the 3 month trial you have to pay £5 a month to recieve a text to tell you some thieving toad is robbing you.
