word of advice from someone who made the mistake in the past...

whichever turntables you get make sure they are direct drive.

Personally I would only recommend the Technics SL1210-MK2s

Years ago I desperately wanted decks, I had one on which I listened to my vinyl at home but wanted a couple of DJ decks for practising at home... I couldn't afford 2 MK2s at the time, but saw an ad that said something like "better than" or "just as good as" and bought 2 inferior decks for the price of one and a half MK2s.. worst purchase ever. seriously rather only buy one and save for the other, you will not regret it

thanks dude, just shows u how much of a novice i am what is a direct drive? - i think im gona get stitched up big time when buying decs. gona buy the worst ones and get ttly ripped off lol. hope not tho!

Direct drive means that the platter is driven by a motor.

The other alternative is belt drives, which, funnily enough, are driven by a belt - which can lead to many problems, the most frequent being unequal rotation of the platter leading to deviations in speed - meaning rubbish mixes!

Personally either get a pair of Technics with a decent mixer from www.decks.co.uk - one of the cheapest places on the net.

Or, go all out and get a pair of Pioneer CDJ1000 MK3's and move into the digital era.

Or for a slightly cheaper alternative the Citronic MPCD S6's

Selling a pair of decks, PM me if interested

About 1 year old, they were used for 1 month or 2 before they got boxed back up due to lack of time

They are Gemini decks, direct drive, forgotten model number, can find it if you want

i know someone selling some technics 1210's mk5's. not used much as he was a pro dj and didnt use his set at home very often.
