DMC - Anyone got a contract with them?

Found 15th Apr 2009
I've got a contract with DMC (http://www.dmcdirect.co.uk/dmc/index.asp) and I get 500 mins and 375 texts, its a cashback deal and I've got a letter through the post saying not to cash in any cheques at present as they possibly in a financial crisis!

Would have cashed my cheque in for £100 in a few days from today and another £124 after four months, is there anything I can do if it all goes wrong? I consider the contact cheap once the cashback has been taken into account or else its damn right expensive!

Anyone got a contract with them or know what I coud do?

Thanks.

Try and cash the cheque, who cares if there in finacial crisis. if they do go bust, then you got a free phone, laughin. not much you can do, i mean if the go into administration you may have a chance to get your money back, but unlikely.

Cash the cheque before you get truly tommy tucked......if the company goes belly up then you are still a customer of that network, and could possibly renegotiate the contract or have it cancelled.

Nope, he still has to pay his contract as normal (To o2, orange or whoever he is with).

It means he'll just loose out on the cashback.

id cash the cheque matey...tomorrow!

Cash the cheque asap and hope for the best, i'm always weary about cashback deals from smaller companys for this reason, in our town centre we have a mobile shop that offers really good cashback incentives BUT it changes name/identity very 3/4 months so they dont have to pay out, it literally happens overnight with no closed period (other than sundays) how they get away with it hell only knows I'd have thought after the time its been there 3+ years people would wise up but no, they sign customers to networks gain there commisions and screw the customers over royally, theres obviously a massive loophole they exploit.

If I were you i'd take them to like a cash advance type place and cash them immediately. it'll cost you 5%, but then if they bounce it's not your problem.

great idea!

I was with DMC, i cashed 2/3 cheques over the contract period. I cashed the last cheque (£160) at a chequeshop as soon as i got a txt from them saying the company was going bankrupt. Unfortunately the cheque bounced and i had to pay back the full amount to the cheque shop.

Anyone Got Anywhere With These Guys?

The Websites Are Still Running - Anyone Know How To Find Out Who Owns The Sites
Or Who The Site Is Registered With

Hi,
I had a chance to talk to one of those guys. If you call them on the number which is still on their website, usually you will get no reply. But sometime they do reply and still advertising DMC direct as the guy pickup the phone and said "Hello DMC Direct". But when I talked to him about the cashback, he said that compnay is bankcorrupt now and all I can do is to keep the cheques safe and they might contact us after 3-4 months to give us our money back but I am sure that will be higly unlikely. I try to cash my first cheque and that bouced back so I lost all my money:oops::x I wish I could get hold of them so I will use this axe :viking:

crooks then! stay clear of local shops offering Cash back! they will never honour deals!
