Do insurance quotations effect credit score?

As above, went on a comparison website to get car insurance quotations and on my credit report I now have around 20 new searches. these are either of the type 'Unrecorded Enquiry' or 'insurance quotation'.

Will this effect my credit score/rating?

    No...

    Figured, thanks ^^

They do "silent searches" that do not leave foot prints on your credit file so no. Could you image if they did... everyones credit scores would be awful.

In applying for a loan, there are rules to follow and this year there's a new set of rules taking effect regarding credit ratings. Well, new rules is not a problem as long as everyone complies with it. The Dodd Frank Act, or the financial reform law from in 2010, has some provisions about companies checking credit scores. Fore warned is forearmed, as they say, so these are good things to be familiar with. A payday loan may be less of a headache to get within the near future.
