Do you buy your pets xmas presents?

I do...have 2 guineapigs and a cockateil so they have a few pressies each....although the cockateil is loving the baubles and tinsil I decorated his cage with....however this year I have also bought for the families pets....we will be spending xmasday with 3 dogs, they each have their own presents they will open themselves (treats inside out of the original wrapper) and a toy.....they also have a pet cracker each

Just wondered if anyone else is as daft as me

Of course, my 2 dogs have their own stockings and gifts from all our family, they also " buy gifts " for our kids stockings in return

Poppy (my pet cat) is giving her brother, Jasper (my other pet cat) a scratch post for xmas, and Jasper is giving Poppy an LED cat torch.
First year I've done it so I've not worked out how they are actually going to 'give' each other the presents yet.
They've also bought us the Times World Atlas!

    I have nice cats

I dont... but the kids insisted we get the dog and hamster a little something. I do however usually give the missus's fluffy squirell a treat at xmas :whistling:

we got our cat one of those go-go hamsters!

got my two cats some tuna, a whiskas stocking with treat ball and treats in a new lasor pen as they love chasing the light around and a new catnip toy

ooooo I think you give your cats too much pocket money! lol @ them giving each other presents....the way my animals look at each other I would expect them to be giving each other poison or grenades! :whistling:

lol the question is.....do they love it or do you love watching them????:p I had the treat problem with the guineapigs....they like fresh veg so much more than any treat from a packet...but I would feel mean giving them a carrot for xmas lol

Our last dog was always given Christmas presents which he really enjoyed, it's the pup's first Christmas and given his enthusiasm for opening boxes I think he's going to enjoy his teddy and squeaky hedgehog.

My 'last' dog used to try open her pressies before xmas :x she would sniff them out and not stop til they were open and eaten.....dont have a dog anymore but I remember my grans pup the 1st time he saw snow....one of the cutest things I have ever seen :-D
question: how long do the 'squeaks' last in the squeaky toys? I find dogs either leave them alone or have them out within the minute

Mine have the squeak out in seconds, will chew and eat anything made of soft rubber, they ate a pink pig a few weeks ago and were pooing pink rubber for days, also obsessed with tinsel, so none on our tree this year, had to take one to the vets last year as they ate it, and took rather along time to emerge in full:santa:

lol I just had a vision of tinsel hanging out of the back of a dog!

always buy ours a pressie, and have bought one for my cousins dog Harley when he comes to visit on Boxing Day

I buy my pooch pressies...well I did, this year I have decided to make them. I am pretty much grabbing a few of her favourite treats and wrapping them in an elaborate way....hoping this will keep her busy.

She seems to love ripping things to shreds every year..but she had way too many toys hence I decided she can't have anything else for a while.

Thinking about buying the cats a couple of mice to play with.

Our dog Paddy will be getting a present this year, a new collar and a dog treat of some sorts. we only got him just before xmas last year and he was really nervous so hid in the bedroom all day. cannot buy him toys as he is scared of them, well he is scared of most things lol

Make it a carrot wrapped in an lettuce or cabbage leaf then. You could tie it with the green part of a spring onion. Prob wont eat the onion but you could leave the pressie for the guineas to open at their own speed.

i wrapped 33 doggie pressies earlier in the week ..yes sad i know ..but with grandson and family all 100 miles away i have to have some fun

their own speed is as fast as poss (when it comes to eating ofcourse) they have a new 'house', some veg, and some wooden toy things that theyll prob sniff once and leave

Have to say I only bought it 'cos I had my 2 kids harping on about buying the cat a pressie the whole way round Sainsbury's, by the time we got to the pet aisle I was passed the point of caring, they could have shoved anything in the trolley at that point:)

    lol thats commitment for ya

The pup has already managed to steal his Christmas present once...it's well out of reach now! Jake was always very gentle with his toys, one of his favourite squeaky toys he had all the way from a pup to the end of his life. The new pup seems to be looking after his toys as well, his squeaky sea urchin is still going strong.

    John

Giving my cat a Go Go Hamster i think.

My pets don't appreciate presents :x but they will have a huge bowl of warm porridge mixed with sweetcorn, sultanas & a load of mealworms mixed in on Christmas morning :santa:

too right i do my dog is my whole world she gets tons of stuff
spent a bombload in pets at home on saturday and took it to my local dogs trust to make sure they all had a nice day

    yes every year
this year we have 4 dogs to buy for
i cant wait to see the puppy's trying to get into there's:santa:
