not unless you with a specific insurer that lets you

nope

No, however some insurers offer an intro no claims bonus discount for being a named driver. However it is normally only if you insure with the same insurer as your other halfs dad.

Depends on the insurer. Direct line is one of those that do.

Elephant does as well.

so does bell

So does co op

So does admiral

Elephant, bell and admiral are part of the same company.

You can't then move to another insurer after say a year and say you have 2 years ncd. Only 1 will count.

In my experience, insurers who do offer this have higher rates than others even after the ncd.

The co-op allow named drivers to accrue no claims bonus. A max of 3 years and only if they then insure through them.
