Do you need a Fishing License if you are fishing on a holiday lodge lake?

We are going away to a lodge and it says fishing on the lake. Does anyone know if we will need a fishing license from the Post Office to fish on the lake. It would be one adult and 2 children. I can't get through to the lodge to ask questions and Hoseasons doesn't know. Many thanks

Yes you do.

Children under 12 are free as long as you do not use their rod.

Children 12-16 are £5 for a year

and adult is £27 for a year , £10 for an 8 day or £3.75 for a 1 day

Thanks
Technically it isnt a fishing licence, but a rod licence. And yes you need one (same as you'd need a shotgun license even if shooting on private land)
Would my husband still need one if the kids are only fishing. One rod each (Aged 16 and 13 yrs). Its just that they will probably not fish anywhere else.
Thanks for your time.
Technically if your husband holds the rod he needs a license. If he just sits there he doesn't.

You're welcome, enjoy your fishing. I went to Crowhurst Park a few years back with Hoseasons. We went fishing, was great.
