Do you still have to swipe keyfob thingy @ Somerfield to get BOGOFs?

Its so long since I have been there!

Going there this afternoon as my favorite wine is on offer (Hardys Crest) at half price, so wondering do I need to hand the keyfob thingy in first or have they stopped that (stupid!) system?

No I'm sure they scrapped it.

    I will!

This offer seems to rotate from store to store, not that long ago it was on at Morrisons, but I've used them all up!

what a strange trolley! Wine and toilet rolls!! :whistling:

    Oh well, needs must!

That was the most stupid idea ever. I went in to Somerfield once, filled a trolley, got to the checkout and they asked for my card. Being a stubborn sort I told them I didn't want one and walked out  Stupid, stupid.....

By the way, not been back since.

I agree, what a pain it was.....you had to remember to give it to them to swipe through before they scanned anything otherwise you didn't get the offers and ended up paying full price! I was caught out by that a few times! I suppose that was the crack though!

Worst thing about those cards was you didnt even get points or anything with them (like you do with tesco/sainsburys)

It was one of the most totally bizarre things I've ever seen a supermarket do.

And just think they probably paid some advertising agency £10's of thousands (if not more) for that idea !!

Beyond belief !! I was lucky because round this area the ladies on the till just used to keep a spare fob under the till and if you forgot yours they would run theirs through.
Even the staff couldn't understand it.

Quite simple, they sold all your personal details back to the advertising firms, along with your buying profile.....;-)

Well you would have thought that wouldn't you but it never appeared to hav any effect on junk mail to this address and we certainly never got any from Somerfield themselves.

    Maybe I'm just a bad risk , lol :w00t:

Maybe they sold it to the government then:p

We all know its a big brother thing. Loyalty cards are just real world 'cookies'

Been and got my wine, no keyfob needed

If you used the saver card and if you did spend a lot in there, specially in 1 shop, then you get with your till receipt a coupon to give like £2 off your next spend of £30 for example.Stingy scheme.

Now Suze don't drink all your wine at once!
