Documents needed to travel to america

I'm going to Las Vegas at the beginning of January and although I have checked my passport (several times) to make sure it will be valid, I keep getting a funny feeling that I need some other documentation like a visa or something. Can't seem to find anything to say I need other documentation. Is there something that I'm forgetting?

    a) For nationals included in the Visa Waiver Program (see Visas), passports must be valid for at least 90 days from date of entry.
    (b) All travellers entering the USA under the Visa Waiver Program require individual machine-readable passports. Children included on a parent's passport also now require their own machine-readable passport. Travellers not in possession of machine-readable passports will require a valid USA entry visa.
    (c) As of 12 January 2009, all travellers visiting the US under the Visa Waiver Programme are to provide details online 72 hours prior to travel. For more information, please see below.
    (d) Passports issued on or after 26 October 2005 will need to have a biometric identifier in order for the holder to travel visa free under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). Machine-readable passports issued between 26 October 2005 and 25 October 2006 require a digital photograph printed on the data page or an integrated chip with information from the data page. Machine-readable passports issued on or after 26 October 2006 will require an integrated chip with information from the data page (e-passport).

Great site. Very helpful thank you. Mind you, I'm still a bit confused as it says Visa required? British No/2. Why doesn't it just say No?

Now I'm feeling silly. What's a machine readable passport? How do I know if mine is?

Just looked up hot tamalas on google as had no idea what they were! Sounds yummy...

yeah they are yummy. On my last box now from when i went to america in June.

Fill the ]ESTA via waiver online..........not that it worked when I went to Vegas.

    So jealous .....I loved Vegas

you need to fill out visa form online to go to the USA!

You will need to apply for a VISA if you ever been arrested ... doesn't matter if you're charged or convicted. An arrest shows up on your records that US immigration can see. If in any doubt, look on the US Embassy site but you'll definetly need to fill in the ESTAbefore you fly.

As choc1969 states, you must do that online application - they tell you that you don't need to take confirmation paperwork with you to the US, but it's worth taking a print out, just in case.

When I arrived earlier this year, they had the full info on their systems, so I didn't need the paper backup.

My dealings with US immigration have generally been really easy and fast, but some airports are slower, and more known for being less accommodating.
