Does anybody know of any hot deals for things to do in Jan in London (with a 6 year old boy)?

I'm in the process of booking a 3 night stay in London for myself and my eldest as he really wants to go and see Wicked in the west end. I really want to get the most out of our stay as he's never been to London before but I'm trying to keep it within my 'post Chribo' budget. Has anyone got any top tips for free/good value things to do in London with a 6 year old?

you have got to take him to science museum - and history (next door) all completely free except for what you will buy in the shop - (usually cheaper in amazon etc - so promise him you will buy when you get home!!)

visit to hamleys to see the toys ! x

climb the monument, is pretty cheap, and will tire him (and you) out!!!

Go and see a TV recording!

www.tvrecordings.com and www.bbc.co.uk/tickets/ both offer free audience tickets (if you Google, you'll find a few more free ticket booking companies).

Alternatively, the BBC does TV centre tours which are reasonably priced, and well worth it (though you have to book first). When we went, we saw a bit of The Fratellis warming up for Jonathan Ross, and some of the Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals, as well as a tour of the studios!

Thanks everyone for the good ideas!

I took my son to the London Zoo in January last year but would NOT reccommend it (although in good weather it would be great fun) because is so cold all the animals where hiding in their pens!!!

have a look at this link, hope it helps
