    Fortunately, No................

Lucky you, i'm allergic to most things :-(

Anti - histamines or injections from your GP can help with that - it isn't the fur, its the dander.....
You CAN get help for that and there are specific sites and what not for cat people that are allergic....
Trust me I have tried EVERYTHING!

    Work!

I would love to have tests for food allergies!

That is another strangely common allergy -that is one of the reasons that restaurants now say if the product contains such to stop people from going into anaphalatic shock......

You CAN have tests if you get a referral - if you don't it isn't that expensive to do, as it (normally) involves scratch tests (just right for a cat like me) that go on your arm, you soon see the results - really it isn't THAT expensive.....:)

Hayfever, but luckily only for the first few months of the year.

    Walnuts
    Some pollens (not sure which)

Hayfever all year round, cats, dogs, dust, aerosols, perfumes, anything really that is small enough to get up my nose. My gp refused an injection of any sort and i go round in circles of all the antihistamines. none work for long, so i take piriton only when its really severe and i use an ice pack to calm the symptoms

i thought it was the protein in the saliva that most people are allergic too

anti histamines don't work for me, what else is worth trying?

You may also benefit from the flu jab, I'd speak to your GP

cows milk, brazil nuts and although not technically an allergy i'm coeliac so no wheat/rye/barley/oats

a doctor i once spoke to said nearly everybody has allergies, if they are lucky it will be tibetan llama hair or something they never come into contact with..

I agree with the fact that you may benfit from the flu jab - (although it has to be said I am not a GP) BUT having seen a number of reations to a number of different substances, be it the dander (saliva in it) or the protein, and so on....
I (guess?) in most cases it comes down to either adapting, or avoiding...
Piriton (brand name) is good for some, other stronger anti histamines can be prescribed from your GP, there are various sorts of herbal potions and lotions, as there are also various sorts of hospitals &/or clinics that specialise in these sorts of issues.
Often, if you sufer from a bad reaction to things you can't really avoid, it is advisable to carry such a warning on your person, so as to inform the emergency services, should (God forbid) anything bad happen to you.
However, more often than not, it is a mild/annoying irritant.....
Nevertheless, it can be so very upsetting and hurtful for others to see....
For example, when the one you love s allergic to your (say) pet, and you love them both dearly what do you do.... 1st thing people say is get rid of the pet, but that in some cases was there first, second thing they think is that as an animal lover you must be crazy to even think about it...
What they don't appreciate is that even getting rid of the pet - wont get rid of the symptoms - as the dander (etc) are left in the carpet and so on.
Keep windows open as much as possible, keep the pets off the bed, and out of the bedroon, replace carpets with wood/vinal (easier to keep hygenically clean and gets rid of the dander a lot easier than it resting in the carpet) keep vacuming, and keep taking the tablets!
Other than that - avoid at all costs....
    Puuurrrrrrrrrrr

Metoclopromide - medicine that stops you feeling sick. I went into spasm and then stopped breathing and had ambulance take me to hospital (only just got home the day before from the hospital). They gave me another antiemetic cycladine and I halucinated - seeing green coloured dead people in a hospital is quite possibly the creepiest thing ever, especially when you are feeling poorly.

Luckily I'm ok with cats and dogs - though wierdly my brother became badly allergic to cats after becoming diabetic at 21. Luckily he had left home so the cat stayed and is on my bed right now fast asleep.

I'm allergic to guinea pigs

I get non seasonal allergic conjunctivitis :-D but have had seasonal allergic conjunctivitis too, they make it up as they go along though I reckon. Had my best year yet this year, had a hiccup in February but then I ate two jars of local honey (it's supposed to help). I was on steroid eye drops for years, I'm surprised I'm not blind.

WHAT!?!?!? How on EARTH does / did THAT happen!!?? LOL!!!

Allergies are sometimes due to people not being exposed to certain things and /or mummy & daddy being TOO clean and so on... But of all the animals in the world you pick those over sized Hampsters!!
    That made me chuckle!! :whistling:
