I had this cover for about 8 years when it was originally with Norwich Union and made a couple of claims in that period. Cancelled when they transferred the policy to Domestic General as most of my appiances are now over 8 years old. From what I remember they had two levels of cover: one for items up to 5 years old and the other for upto 8 years old. Reasonable monthly premiums (depending on your postcode) and repaired or replaced the faulty items when claimed. It's extra piece of mind and would recommend instead of shops' extended warranties.

i wouldnt get any cover until the full eu legislation warranty is up shops tell you 12mths and you can extend to 3 years however under the european legislation act we get that anyway but retailers dont tell you obviously have a gander just search eu legislation act i looooove the site been using it for many years and when you quote it retailers look shocked and gutted at the same time he he he

i have all my devices insured with domestic and general. I dont have much luck with electicals lol.
I had new replacement lots of times. So when the 12 month warranty runs out i have a further 3-5 (depending what ive chosen).
If your devise get knackered within manufacters guarentee. Then they have to sort it. After that dom and general deal with it.

Yes have one for the Dyson. Used it today. Dyson are coming around on Wednesday to fix it. It's a long story but the policy was worth it.

if its a hotpoint appliance i was informed by an engineer that they do a flat rate of about £90 somthing pound which includes parts and labour now.

also if you take out a d&g insurance policy we found that at the end of each year cancele it and start up a new one its cheaper than the renewal price.was informed about this a few years ago by a helpfull customer service rep. we got the 3 appliance kitchen cover plan.

Sorry but SOGA covers you in this country, the EU legislation that everyone keeps banging on about isnt true in this country as the UK did not opt in.
