Does anyone know anything about Catcha Beast?

Found 6th Aug 2008
I've heard that Catcha Beast is to be one of the new must have toys for this Christmas but has anyone got any experience of one?

They retail at £19.99 are they worth the money?

Is it likely to be abandoned after 5 minutes or are they a good toy?

Any help greatly appreciated, will leave rep to all who help.

Sounds like some Pokemon rip off to me. To be honest though, most trendy toys will be abandoned after a while.

Looks like a 2 day wonder to me cant see how it would engage our kids after that
Catcha Beast is the latest craze from Japan! This exciting electronic game has a built in digital compass that requires the player to rotate their entire body 360° in order to search for invisible beasts that populate the atmosphere.

Once located the meter at the bottom of the screen will rise, alerting you to its location. Now carefully reel it in * but it won¹t be easy as the beast will fight back!

Once you captured a beast you must train it and then you can use it in battles to capture more difficult beasts. You can also connect to your friends Catcha Beast (each sold separately) for wicked interactive battles!

You can even trade items such as lures allowing you to catch beasts which don¹t normally appear on your version. With over 100* beasts to catch * are you ready to become the best Catcha Beast hunter! * Require both Red & Blue Versions of Catcha Beast (each sold separately)

Yep, that's it.
I think it's like a cross between fishing, Pokemon and Tamagotchi.

Has anyone got experience of playing on one.

I've heard rumblings that Wii Music is going to do big things this X-mas

Unfortunately the Wii gathers dust, I can count on one hand the amount of times it's been used in the last 3 months! The DS though gets used frequently, so I thought being handheld might be the key.
