Does anyone know if Argos will send a reserved item to me?

I have just reserved possibly the last £149.99 ipod touch 32gb in the country, but the location is about 200 miles away!

Does anyone know if they will send the item to me (if I pay for the postage of course).

Do managers have that discretion?

Going to call them 1st thing tomorrow, but just wondered if anyone had any experience.

Now even though Argos probably have the means to do this, it is far too customer friendly for them to do such a thing. If they are anything like the local Argos bunch near me you have more chance of catching a bus to the moon tomorrow.

Haverfordwest is the store.

Depends on if they can take card not present transactions.

The fraud risk increases as there is no Chip and Pin or Verified by Visa and then you have the postage costs... Doubt if they will do it. Maybe a helpful established member could?

They can send item as an inter store transfer via central warehouse then onto the warehouse for that particular store, then transferred into store. Takes a few days to a week. Not a big job at all Then pay for the item in ypur local store.

I've made loads of CNP transactions in the past. Never had an issue. Not sure about the Argos policy on this though TBH.

They will not take a payment over the phone guaranteed, the only way to do it is an inter store transfer, at the discretion of the stock manager.

Alright, no need to get hostile. I was garnering information as the store is shut. And as it happens from this thread I have now discovered that they can do an inter store transfer thingy-me-bob and I have also found out who I need to talk to.

They were shut when I called earlier, which is why I am calling them 1st thing tomorrow.

My local didnt have a toy my son wanted for xmas , it was in a store 300 miles away and the last one the manager from my local called the store spoke to the manager there and asked them to send it down via internal mail ( they dont have to pay shipping i think he said) it was in my local store 2 days later. so some managers will do it. good luck hun
oh yes i forgot to mention i went instore and paid for the item before it arrived

I used to do it all the time when i was a stock manager at Argos, if its old stock not in the new catalogue, they will be more than happy to get rid of it before its recalled, its a £150 item, not an item that would dranatically increase the shops sales

Lol, the stores near me, they close about 20 mins before they should, the managers are always women who have attitude problems. And god help if you want to return something.

So you read my message at 8.17pm, got to the store and picked it up without my email address or reservation number in under 13 minutes.
