Does anyone know of a good place to eat out in central London?

Going down for a few days and am looking for some places to eat out.
Any suggestions? Vouchers would also be appreciated!

Looking for any kind of food really.
    Italian, French, Mexican?!

If you are doing the touristy stuff then you probably want to eat outside.

There is a great Thames walk from London Bridge down to Waterloo and there are lots of good pubs and places to eat.

For example, if you start at the London Bridge end. The Anchor pub - can sit on the Thames and beer not bad - they also do standard pub grub, keep walking West and you reach Tate Modern and the Founder's Arms ditto to Anchor. Then you get to Oxo Tower with great views - you can go up and just have a drink (cocktails are good!) or try the Bistro for a mid priced meal. Keep walking and for a good and cheap pizza/Italian try the Gourmet Pizza Co on Gabriel's Wharf (5mins from Waterloo).

Keep walking west and you will hit the Royal Festival Hall - their Skylon restaurant is good if you ask for a Thames facing table (quite pricey). Keep going and you will see Las Iguanas (lots of coupons on web for this place!)

Then you are back to Waterloo train station - don't try and fit this all in one day unless you are doing the pub crawl option!!

Do you follow the same routes as me :w00t:

Skylon have discounted meals at the moment so check and book through Toptable.

Have to admit was disappointed with the Oxo Tower, had to complain about their snooty service

Most recently ate at the Butlers Wharf Chop House, was amazing

Also heres an awesome iranian restaurant, foods lovely.

    Hey Choc,

Well, I work around there so exploring the local area is great. I agree with you on the Oxo though - staff a bit above themselves when I went and you think I had asked for fish and chips in paper when I suggested 'tap water'!!

It's built up a lot and the Friday market at Borough is worth a visit if you are in the area...

Another restaurant to try is RSJ's which is down Stamford Street. They do a set meal which is mid priced. Food is fab English with a twist, staff are great...

On the river tip that someone's mentioned above I went to the blueprint cafe before (a conran resturant) which was on top table, and had decent views.
