does anyone know the cheapest place to get hundreds, possibly thousands of images printed cheapest?

I'm getting rid of an old laptop and it has photos about 7 years worth on there, i dont want to put them on a memory stick and risk looking that so just want to print them all off and have a copy forever

but i realise its going to be costly, so does anyone know the best place/ cheapest to get these done? or any offers for free 100 prints with CHEAP p&p

    must appreciated

you could put it on several memory sticks so the probability of them all becoming corrupt is minimal. you could also upload the photos to dropbox and similar cloud sites so you can put money on the photos disappearing = zero.

i did this with our photos of our dog who passed away and i did not want to lose his photos.

You could always email them to yourself as an attachment and just leave unopened . Don't know the max you can do that way though .

google and yahoo and i guess hotmail gives you free storage space so it would be more efficient to upload them to this free space than emailing to your account.

OP, as has been said, back up to the cloud is going to be a vital thing to do. What's the possibility that you lose a photo that you printed? Probably about the same as the chance of losing a memory stick. I'd be keeping a back up should you want to print extra copies at the best quality come a later date as if you only have the final prints and no original files the quality will be worse.

As has been said loads of places to store the photos online safely and securely.

    Dropbox
Photobucket (when set to original sizes for upload)
Your own email account may even offer this (Gmail offers 15gb of space and I've used to to back up data)

You never know what might happen in the future, if your home burnt down you could easily lose all those memories. So back up now as well as consider the printing option to ensure you have no issues down the line.

try money saving expert theres a section on there that tells you which company are doing free prints, you will have to make up several email addresses tho, i just got 800 printed for about £15

I think I'd keep the laptop, thousands of prints are going to take up and cause more clutter than one laptop!

What if your laptop fails? You'd ask yourself why didn't i: upload to cloud (best option), print them, save to memory stick etc...
