Does HUKD Save you money or Cost you money?

    Hi,

I regularly come into HUKD to check for deals and discount voucher codes before I go through checkout but I've been home bound this last week and have become addicted to the forum clicking F5 every so often so be kept updated on latest deals. There have been some amazing bargains, and I have been unable to resist some of them. The nett effect being that I have spent sooo much money this week!

On the other hand, I am pretty much sorted for pressies this Christmas and all of next year spending much less that I would normally have to!

So, the question is, does HUKD save you money or cost you money?

    :?

ummmm well i do spend more i guess, but then i save on my grocery shopping as i dont remember the last time i paid for a delivery, must be before i joined hot deals,

Ive also had a nice amount of quidco cashback, which i wouldnt of known about without hot deals, and ive had a few nice freebies, so i reckon it evens out nicely, if not it leans to saving

You don't save money, you just get MORE STUFF for around the same amount. lol.

Its about staying ahead of the game. Getting the buyer edge back.

Costs me money as i never used to spend online until i found this site

So yes its saves me money in the sense that things are cheaper but costs me money as i wouldnt have thought about buying them

Good point as I still get the same weekly income and the same amount outgoing but get more for my money definitely and especially quidco as its only stuff i would normally buy so the quidco income is my budget for any personal treats such as bits for my PC ive paid for all my upgrades using quidco, the next pc bit it will buy me is western digital mybook 750gb for £99.99 as my drives have run out of space backups (2 x 250gb externals) to backup 1x250 and a 320 internal (os is on a seperate 80gb that is cloned for a rapid re-install with all programmes when it starts lagging!)

As Admin has said in the past I believe... no one ever said that HUKD would ever save you money, it's a shopping place.

Definitely find things you never knew you needed lol.

It costs me a fortune lol

Especially at Christmas, I am not a big spender at Christmas...but being here has changed that, it's not even December yet and I have already 'spent up' but I just know every day a new deal is going to appear that I am going see and think 'Oh my mum would love that, how can I pass it up at that price' and come Christmas I will have spent about triple what I used to lol

    Yes.:giggle:

Spend so so much more ...

I prefer to look at it as i simply spend on here what i make in earnings from cashback sites, which i get back from things i buy from on here. It's a perfect marriage.I learnt of quidco over 2 years ago from this site and have had over £1000 cashback.Out of that i have had a few hundred pounds in cashback by simply using the cashback sites for all my insurance needs,so that is money back from something i would deffo be buying anyway. So i would say overall that it saves me money in order to be able to spend more.

I probably do spend more but the savings are good and make it worth it.
What I buy though is usually stuff I would use myself or for a present so it's not buying for the sake of it.

this place did save me money, till i ordered a beko tv :whistling:

I only buy what i need

I agree - have spent about the same amount but got a lot more for it

Plus freebies (some really great ones!)

Plus I learnt about quidco and earnt £200 in the last year without spending anything (all parents spending, I get to keep the quidco - they say its worth it considering all the bargains I get them!)

Learnt about ipoints too, which has got me about 3 moonpig cards so far, and enough points for another 18 or so (fully paid for by ipoints collected without spending anything, just by clicking offers or doing 10 second surveys)

thanks everyone, that's made me feel much better.

Definitely costs me money - a bargain is only a bargain if you need it, I frequently buy items I don't really need...

    John

it makes me money *harvie logs on to ebay to see how well his 47 Nintendo wii are doing*

Just wish I'd known about HUKD before I bought my Samsung TV *bangs head on table* :whistling:

Don't know if it saves me dosh but..... People defo get better pressies from me due to the bargain prices!
Tesco clubcard/codes bought me £200 jewellery  (which I would never have spent on myself)
Quidco has give me back about £80 so far

Evens itself out I reckon

A big 'THANK YOU' to all who have posted the bargains.

    spend and save!

My purchases balance themselves out, I save on the stuff I need then with that I spash out on something I dont really need.

Both. Save loads but buy things I might not have.

it saves me money cos i only buy what i really really need .. the only gripe is that whilst quidco gives you the discount hotukdeals takes it back through its affiliate links - the gripe isnt that they use affiliate links but that its not mentioned anywhere. yes quidco/hotukdeals are the same people behind them.

I think I get more for my money, its even becoming an obsession, i'm also shopping for family too to make sure they get the best price, it beats walking round the shops to find the cheapest deal. long live HUKD!!

i cant get points, how do u get them? through buying stuff?

for the first few times i used this place it saved me money - but once i started viewing the site daily i kept finding things i didn't know i needed at prices i couldn't resist.

This place is definately costing me LOL

Yes, but you dont have to.

I get points from doing the shopping through mysupermarket, plus...

    ipoints.co.uk/ear…ll/
    ipoints.co.uk/fre…ts/

The polls update regularly so keep checking. I have only just started using mysupermarket, and got about 10,000ipoints in the last year without spending anything! Now thats the only way I spend - and I cant get cashback from quidco for it, but do it every week so its a bonus

Case in point: My boots card has a points balance of over £300. That's right, £300 in money, not 300 points!

I think I spent about £600 to get there, some essentials - nappies, wipes, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc and others just random bargains - like that current Elle promo: £35 box down to £17.50, PLUS 3 for 2 offer.

I plan on hoarding them and taking them out every so often to look at what lovely bargains I got ... then will give them away as presents at some point next year.

I just couldn't resist it. I am soooo weak! At least I stopped myself from buying more than 3!
