I play cod 4 on my ps3, and my brother often plays games on his laptop, and our connection is always going offline, I rang orange today and asked why and they said its the online games. But when they are trying to sell u the the deal it says 'good for online gaming'. so if I change isp will this still happen?

bumpy bump

it shouldnt unless the network speeds are trash ..... i had unlimited bb on bt and used to have 4 pc's and 1 xbox on line @ a time and never had drop out ....... it could be the orange box failing / faulty cables to the devices / just general crap connection from orange

Its your PS3, should have been smart and bought an XBOX instead....

Unless your crossing the threshold of their fair usage policy then gaming (or downloading, or anything really) shouldn't make any difference, a game certainly cannot force a disconnect.

I'd check out their fair usage policy before you do anything else.

*EDIT* unless you're using wireless connection then the first thing I'd do is plug in an ethernet cable and see if it makes any difference on wired.

i have orange, but have noticed online gaming is a nitemare between 6pm and 11pm. pretty much impossible. so much so im considering changing even though i only pay 12.99 for supposadly 8mb unlimited and its going to cost double that anywhere else

If it's only between 6pm and 11pm then that sounds like a fair usage policy restriction.

I used to get dropouts on an evening then i swapped the livebox for a netgear and never had a disconnection since.

online gaming surely doesnt use that nuch resources, not like im constantly downloading. i see BT offer true unlimited with no fair use policy, so im considering that.
