Drayton Manor on bank holidays

Found 1st May 2009
considering taking my sons to thomas land in dryaton manor; but worried it will be rammed on a sunday during bank holiday.....

my husbands nurse went to thorpe park last bank holiday and the waiting time for the SAW ride was 3hrs 45......whereas a freind from school took her kids to chessington on easter sunday and said queus were minimal..... so i was wondering if anyone had been during the bank holiday (esp sunday) and know how busy it was esp thomas land. thanks!!

I went to Thorpe park last bank holiday (easter) and it wasn't that bad. I didn't get there till mid day so that might have made a difference. I guess the solution could be the 'fast track' passes, but they are pricey ...
Looks like it's gona be a great Bank Holiday Weekend weather wise.

DMP is going to be rammed IMO.
Agreed DMP has boomed in the last 18 months.

Would say you will queue a max 45 mins for some rides in Thomas Land others will be 15-45 mins.

It is always busy now so no quiet time.

If you do go, get there very early so you have your tickets and ready to get in for when it opens 10:30 I think (queues for getting tickets can be up to 30 mins) or be prepared to stop late. Sometimes the park opens till later than advertised if it is a nice day. Tends to quieten down a bit after 4pm and the queue's reduce.

A fair bit to do for little ones apart from Thomas Land including a smallish zoo
hmmmm weather here looks cr*p for the bank holiday..... starting today.........
Have you thought about Gullivers Kingdom? We took my daughter for her 4th Birthday, we had a fantastic day, was busy but few queue's to get on rides..
thanks for comments got the tickets from tesco...so can refund them if i want anyways..... gullivers land sounds good but son is obsessed with thomas tank engine.... maybe tk gregs advice and go zoo if it all gets too much
We have the season passes for Drayton Manor (only live about 30 mins away) and go every weekend either Sat or Sun for a few hours, dont have very young kids so not too bad when the queue is long. Went last Bh monday and the park was packed
£25 for adults and £21 for kids over 4 years...and the kids cant go on most of the rides cos their too short!!! rip off if you ask me

is drayton manor any good compared to parks like alton towers?
