Drip coming from cold water pipe

Last night discovered a drip coming from my cold water pipe, followed it up and it is coming from the water tank.

called a plumber and he is coming round tonight, anybody have any ideas what might have to be done.

Dont want to be ripped off so need to see what the possibilites are of what you do to fix.

What's a "cold water pipe"?

could be a loose fitting or.......................................split in tank

your insurance will cover it - contact them as they may send their plumbers that they use

gonna see what the plumber suggets and then see if worth going through house insurance

Just a thought: It's not condensation on the pipe/tank, is it?

Otherwise it could be a weeeping joint where the fitting is fixed to the tank, or a damaged tank like the previous poster said.

See what the man says and go from there.

lol - plumber came round on Wednesday spent about 3 mins looking in loft and said i needed a complete new water tank, so i ask for a quote of top of his head £200 plus VAT

As a temp measure he drained the Tank so its empty, that was two days ago. I now have no Hot Water and No Central heating.

And he still not come back with the quote to replace.

Finding a decent Plumber is going to be hard
