Driving without a license will get you a penalty of 3-6 points and of up to £1000. Driving without a insurance 6 - 8 penalty points or a ban and a fine of up to £5,000

I think thats what it is but not 100% and if someone allowed him to drive the car they can also be done for it

6 month ban and 6 points i think

A mate of mine had his license revoked for medical reasons after he nearly killed several people + himself after suffering a blackout while driving down the motorway. As for your mate, I'm pretty sure the current punishment is a cricket bat to the back of the head, although if it's not, it probably should be.

6 points and a hefty fine

a frontal lobotomy, as he clearly isnt able to make good use of it. driving whilst BANNED is silly enough, but to park somewhere like that. He may as well have driven in the front of a police station or side swiped a police car

    :w00t: a spidey stripper? cooool

I'd recommend getting your friend to post on forums.pepipoo.com as the users there are generally very knowledgeable on motoring offences and should be able to give him an idea of what he's facing.

Generally with multiple motoring offences, points are only given for the worst offence rather than all being added together however the fines for all the offences are combined which would probably mean as mentioned earlier six points and a large fine.

Up to £1000 for the license and up to £5000 for the insurance and as John has said they get added it could be very expensive

Hopefully not since if he hit someone it wouldn't have done less damage because it was his first offence. Hope he gets hammered

    he should be hanged

seriously, people are going on daft over someone committing a couple of traffic offences - big deal.

he's done wrong, he'll no doubt pay the price but lay off people, he's not a kiddy fiddler

those sort of fines rarely, if ever, get handed out

more like £200 for no insurance and £50 for no licence and 5 penalty points is about standard going on what I see in my local newspaper.

thats why so many 17 year olds dont bother with insurance as the fines are far lower than the premiums! :w00t:

Yeah but he could have been a killer and someone else would have to 'pay the price' if he hit them. His license obviously got taken away for a reason. I had a friend almost killed by an uninsured unlicensed driver so after seeing how much he and his family went through because some numpty had the intelligence of a goldfish.

    You can find out here:

    sentencing-guidelines.gov.uk/doc…pdf

These are the sentencing guidelines that the magistrates will use to determine the penalty points and fines, it also shows what factors increase the fine. Fine are ranked in band A (lowest) to band C (highest) and they're based on the person's income.

All too true about the premiums but I'm sure that no insurance means 6-8 points which would mean a ban as if you receive 6 points in first two years of getting full license its a ban, would that be correct?

tell that to the families of the 200+ people killed each year by uninsured drivers :whistling:

Each fatality is estimated to cost taxpayers around £1.2 million and serious accidents £140,000. The Motor Insurer's Bureau, which is funded by insurers and compensates victims of negligent and untraced drivers, says the financial cost of uninsured drivers to the insurance industry is £500 million a year.

And that in turn equates to an extra £30 a year being added to every car insurance policyholder's premiums. (A point to bear in mind if you're still feeling reluctant to report someone you know to be driving without insurance.)

But while the number of uninsured drivers is on the increase, the average fine for driving without insurance has actually fallen from £224 to £185 over the past few years.
