    Driving on a Provisional licence

Hi, my Daughter has just passed her driving test - Yay.... She is insured on my car on her provisional, can she drive it even though she has passed her test or do we need to wait until we have contacted them to say that she has passed?

    Thanks

She needs to update her status with the insurer at present she is uninsured until doing so.

has she got her full licence or just her provisional and the pass

Mmmm... I'm going to go with:
If she is already named on your policy as a Provisional licence holder, just tell the insurers that she has now passed her test. I would say that she will still be covered under the policy because she's already named on there....

your policy may increase now, as a learner she would have been a supervised driver, now she can drive alone

Just tell your insurance she has passed and will be fine

If the police stop her the DVLA put on the database that she has passed.

    ^^^^This.

Plus she isn't insured to drive the car until her details on the policy have been amended

Thanks all, I think we will wait until we contact the insurance company, just to be on the safe side.

    Cheers all

Definitely wait until you inform the insurance company. Your daughter (congratulations to her by the way!) will need to take with her in the car, when she is insured, her certificate that she was given at the test centre to show that she has passed her test. She will not need to carry this when her full licence arrives.

Surely the time it took you to ask in here you could have phoned the insurance company and that cuts the guess work / would be expert advice you get on here ?????
