DSi - Gaming Card - Advice Needed Please

My son has a DSi and I am trying to set it up for him. I have set it up with the internet which made me mum of the year yesterday!! Today's job is to find a memory card. It says an SD card - does this have to be a special gaming card or can it be any SD card, such as the type would you would normally buy for a camera. Once I have the card - can I just download MP3 tracks and let him use the DSi in the same way as an ipd?

Thank you - sorry - I'm just a bit clueless - but I am getting there!

Any SD card will do.

Do they play MP3's? I didn't think they did.
Once you have ripped them to the correct format, you should be able to play them like an I-pod.

Have you got a manual?

Just looked at the manual and it says aac-encoded fromat - what does this mean? Currently I put music on i tunes for me and windows media player for my daughter - does that mean none of these will work? Why is it all so difficult?!!!

If you read dandoc's reply, you will see the AAC ones you already have will work.

I read it - but didn't get it - sorry! I don't have AAC tracks - or you do mean that once I copy them onto the SD disk they will automatically change to the correct type - what does AAC mean - I can't find it in the manual - I wish i still smoked! Instead it's going to have to be a deep breath and chocolate and I'll start again.

Thank you for your patience!!

You're making me late for work.

AAC is the format that i-pods primarily uses. I rarely use my i-pod or i-tunes anymore, so can't talk you through it without checking it. Hopefully another good soul can help you out, or I will help later.

Gotta go. Zooooooommmmmmmm.
