freecycle?? lol i keep saying that! but im sure if you say what its for you will be lucky..

don't know wether this will interest you but someone put this on earlier hotukdeals.com/ite…rt/

You say you are only going to watch the DVD, you don't need to pay for a tv licence if you're not using the tv you get from your ariel, i'm sure they can't make you pay for using a dvd player...

I find that arranged car boot sales (the weekly ones - our one is every sunday) seem to have an abundance of 13" crt tvs that sell for about £2 each. If you can find the closest one to your home, it's the cheapest option

try another area freecycle maybe? if you need it for a short time maybe someone could lend you one? esp if you give a lot!

Are you serious. That's like saying, "Oh, I never watch BBC so I don't need a licence". :w00t:

If the T.V. is capable of picking up a signal, then you need a license.

you can pay for a licence monthly and cancel it surely?

Just for the record the wording in the TV licence states "must be capable of receiving a TV signal", so if de-tuned and no aerial fitted, you don't need a licence.
I know this to be fact from a court appearance a few years ago where I did have a TV (for watching videos)and did not get fined

just saw this on the tv licence page
The good news is you can apply for a refund if you find that you don't need your TV Licence for any full three-month period of cover remaining on it, should you stop using TV and not need a licence again before it expires.
its aimed at students but applies im sure to you...

great! that was the cheap bit-now the licence! if you do it dd then at least you wont be waiting for your money back when you finished with it? you can stop your dd and return it?

ooh even better!!! hope its good!

    REGARDING THE TV LICENSE

You DO NOT need a TV license if it is only used for playing games or watching DVD's on. The unit has to be detuned (no visible picture (only snow)) on the channels.
