dvd divx player advice needed?

Found 13th Nov 2007
I'm looking to get a DVD player to use with a standard CRT set (which has SCART sockets, 3xRCA but no HDMI or component connections). Ideally it would handle AVI files with the minimum of fuss and if possible be able to do this direct from a USB stick too.

I don't want to get one with HDMI on it as it won't be used, so wondered if anyone could suggest a good value unit, not too expensive?

I know lidl had them for 21 quid im sure, maybe check there?. Have they still got them on?. Asda, Aldi, Lidl would prob be your best bet.
there is one on ebuyer that I bought ebuyer.com/pro…384
excellent player which will play a lot of formats (divx etc) and will play from USB and memory cards too.
I bought it last week with the google checkout thing.
it can maybe be found cheaper elsewhere.
if money is not a BIG consideration get the philips 5980

admittedly more specs that you'd use at this time but future proof, HDMI/component connectivity, HD upscaling, USB support, good brand name and one of the most respected players in the market in it's price range.
