    Dyson DC18 Allergy - Help!!

    Hello

I recently purchased a Dyson Dc18 Allergy from bargain crazy. I received the machine within 7 days of the online order.

However, I am not sure that I made the correct choice as I am finding the machine completely opposite to what was mentioned in the online reviews.

Here are the noticeable differences I found:

1 In most of the reviews it was mentioned that the machine is very silent. However, I noticed that the DC18 makes more noise than my previous vacuum cleaner.

2 The thing which might be wrong is that I have laminate (hard-wood) floors in my house, but the machine I am using is the Dyson DC18 Allergy. Actually, I did notice the DC18 All-floors version on Dyson's website, but looking at the product details of Dc18 Allergy and DC18 All-floors I could not make out any difference. Also, the DC18 allergy was the only Dyson upright machine available on Bargain Crazy so I did not have much choice.

Although the machine makes a lot of noise, but while cleaning the laminate floor in my house I noticed that the machine was not able to suck everything on the floor and I had to use the machine a number of times to clean the same portion of the floor in order to clean every bit of dirt on it. Still I could see small bits of dirt here & there on the floor while after I thought I have finished cleaning.

Either I have purchased the wrong version/model of the machine OR I am doing something wrong OR the machine is faulty.

Kind help as I have spent a fortune on the DC18 Allergy.

the brush bar is designed for carpets hence your not getting the performance you are looking for

yes, dysons are pretty noisy, but efficient

ask them to exchange it, read the T&Cs on their website beforehand (or make up a good tale), if there is no way they will, sell it on here or ebay, or in your local paper and get the all-floors one

    Thanks very much.

I just spoke to the Dyson helpline and they told me that apart from the HEPA filter in DC18 allergy there is no difference between the Allergy & All-floors model.

The dyson advisor mentioned that the brush-bar is also there in the All-floors model.

    Very Confused now!!

Disappointed, was expecting to be reading about your allergy to a dyson vacuum cleaner
