Dyson pure hot and cool alternatives

Posted 15th Aug 2020
Hi all

I'm looking for a fan that heats, cools and purifies but I don't really want to spend £549 on a Dyson. That's a lot of money!
Are there any non Dyson alternatives out there?
Thanks!

I have this so can speak from experience, got mine for £350 from Dyson on Ebay always cheaper than online or instore. You are buying from Dyson and have normal warranty. Great for heating just one room rather than putting on heating for the whole house. And the cooling does a very good job as well.

Just so you know the dyson doesn’t actually cool. It just moves the air around like any normal fan. Complete waste of money.

Yeah I know. Definitely a waste of money but just wondered if anyone knows of anything out there similar as I can't find anything

Moving air picks up more heat than static air so a fan does cool, it just doesn't cool below ambient.

MJGM: What exactly do you mean by 'purify'? Different mechanisms will remove different things from the air, for example a filter versus an ionizer, so what are you trying to get rid of?

Well, nothing in particular. I'm a bit of a geek and I love the idea of having an app that you can see the air become cleaner over time. Also in the winter I will be working from home alone and don't want to put the heating on to warm the entire house when I'm spending all my time in one room. I see that Xiaomi have a similar product but it doesn't heat, only purify and cool.

Hmm there aren't any on eBay at the moment from Dyson. I'll keep an eye on their store!
