I'm in the market for a Dyson stick/handheld but I have to admit I'm getting completely baffled by the choice.
There are so many to choose from at varying prices!
I have a combination of hardwood, tile and carpet floors.
Can anyone help with what's good what's not and if I indeed do need to pay a bit more for the newer models.
TIA

as long as it has an option to turn the brushbar off so it doesn't flick everything across the hard floors before sucking it up it doesn't matter which you go for, they all suck

Either go for the V6 flexi or if you have pets I think the v6 fluffy is a better option, both on offer at Argos

Haha!
Do you have to change the head on some of them to go from hard floor to carpet?
My current dyson is just a flick of a switch I was hoping for similar.

Not sure about stick handheld types, but recently moved from Dyson to Miele and its amazing.
Look at miele ones

Well the standard flexi only has a single head but says it's suitable for both floor types, the fluffy has different heads which might be better for different floor types

I am an expert on that LOL I absolutely hate hoovering and I have a golden retriever who sheds a lot so I went through all hoovers possible (Miele cat and dog, Gtech etc) All were too much hassle with cables, storage.I taught I will give alway my dog (only joking!) untill I tried cordless Dyson. I finally dont mind hoovering. Dyson is perfect for me.
I had Dyson earlier version and now I have V6 Total Clean. I think its the best option as it has fluffy head which is the best on hard floors and is fab with dog hair. For carpets it has a big hard floor brush, different than the Animal model (has less bristles and is bigger) - the hair is sucked in and I dont have to often clean the brush like I had to clean my previous Animal model brush.
Go for the highest spec models as they have better brushes.

V6 absolute has the strongest brush i think. So kicks up more dust when hoovering especially good for carpets.

Personally if using as a main hoover on carpet definitely the v6 absolute. If you ring up dyson they will beat any pruce match and you can get the tool kit for free too

Dyson total clean has exactly the same as absolute brush you write about plus fluffy brush. dyson absolute has an extra filter but doesnt come with fluffy brush.

I dont know why dyson confuses people with their marketing and poor explanation on their websites
