Easiest way to get cash for some Jewellery?

I have an engagement ring with a Sapphire & Diamonds and a pair of Pearl earrings. Not bothered about getting them back, what is the easiest way to get some cash for these?

    ebay i'm afraid.
    scrap value is awful!!!
I had a beautiful ring that the jewellers valued at £5.06 for scrap value - they wont give you anything other than scrap value. Cash converters was slightly less. Ebay sold for £25 but it was worth much more really. Would have cost £300 to buy new

cash convertors? only they will give you peanuts,or ebay?

Thank you both for the info, never used cash converters before so wondered if it would be worth it or not. I'll have to get them listed on eBay then

Cashconverters give you scrap value same as the jewellers do. You really need someone who likes the ring and will pay you resell value. If you have Platinum then the scrap value of that is quite good at the mo

BTW I'd never used CC before this time cos I actually dont like the shop or some of the characters that go in there. Was told by a policeman friend of mine that its one of their first ports of call for stolen goods! how true this is I dont know but I have no reason to doubt him

No it's not Platinum, it's Gold, just had a quick look on eBay at pearl earrings, there is sooooo many I don't know if they would actually sell in the end.

If its a fairly decent ring why not send it to an auction house. I did this a few years ago with an old engagement ring and got £280 for it! Mine was yellow gold with emeralds and small diamonds

Try listing here with decent photos and descriptions. You never know !

How does that work & would I have to pay any fees upfront?

Fairly decent; I don't know - cost £300 new but that was years ago, it has 1 Sapphire in the middle with 3 small Diamonds each side, fairly sure it's 18 carat but not 100% certain

Check the hallmark. It will read 750 for 18ct, or 375 for 9ct.

From what i can remember i paid a fee at the end of the auction, I think i paid about £20? they take a percentage of the end auction price.
If i were you id give it a try, you could always put a reserve on it?
Where abouts are you? i went to biddell and webb in birmingham

Thanks for that info, not got a magnifying glass but I think I can just make out 375 so that makes it 9ct, it the wedding ring that's 18ct cause I can see the 750 on that!

    I'm in Nottingham

unfortunately the wedding ring is not worth much, not a big market in ex wedding rings lol!
Maybe you could get a jeweller to melt it down and make it into another piece of jewellery for you?

Not too far away then, if there is not an auction house near to you then perhaps you could make a trip to Brum?

Wouldn't know what price to put it at though.

I'd guess if I put it for too much & I'd get no interest & too little people might think there is something not right!
