Easy parking off M4 to catch train to London

Posted 19th Jun 2011
Hi Folks,
A few of us are travelling from S.Wales in a few weeks to attend a conference in central London. The early trains are really expensive so we were thinking of driving up the M4 to just outside town and catching the train into Westminster from there. Could anyone suggest a station easliy reached from the M4 where there is easy/cheap parking and good access to Central London. Cheers.

We normally park up somewhere in the Earls Court area.
I usually park at Hounslow West tube station car park.
It's only about 5 minutes from the M4 Junction 3.
The car park has 425 places and costs no more than £4.50 a day.
Will probably take about 45 minutes on the tube.
I've done this several times without any problems.
Hounslow West is good for a small number of people. However it's a zone 5/6 on the tube so could get pricey if there's a lot of you.

It's may work out cheaper to park at one of the shoppers car park in Hounslow then walk (1/4 mile) to either Hounslow Central or Hounslow East both off which are zone 3/4.

Looks good! Many thanks indeed for all your help.
What's with service stations charging £10 for the night? I can park in Edinburgh city centre for that!
I can trump you all by parking at OSTERLEY tube station (135spaces ,zone 4 )directly on the A4, come off junction 3 m4
