Can anyone offer some friendly advice please?

I am looking for a cheap ish and easy way to setup and run my own retail website...

I have started to do a free one on 350 pages and am struggling it takes so long nor can I seem to link it to a database to alter prices etc, (is that posible anyway?)
I would like visa etc for orders also but can only link to Paypal, I have put a lot of work into the site over the last few months and feel gutted if I have to give up, need to perhaps hire someone to do it.?
I've had a quote of £200 per month! and £450 set up, but I think that included promo etc not sure if that's cheap though...anyone?

thanks in advance if you take time out to answer

depends how basic, you can buy pre build on ebay

Both of my businesses were through them, effortless.

don't want to sound harsh, but as long as u don't fully undersdant ecommerce then u better off taking managed service or one of the out of box solution ... if you are dealing with customers card details you can get into all sorts of troubles, plus you would need to be PCI compliant etc etc
