I'm going to Mallorca tomorrow, and was wondering about a few things about the baggage allowance, as the easyjet website is a bit confusing.

I'm taking a bike, how much is it aloud to weigh?.. 20kg or 32kg?
And my bag im taking as hold luggage is aloud to be 20kg?
Does the total of the bike and my bag have to add up to less then 50kg?
Am I aloud to take Energy bars in hand luggage as they weigh a tonne?

Thanks!

Dom.

no

You can barely travel with a bag on easyjet. you've got no chance with a bike!

The bike will go as outsize baggage, I don't think bikes weigh that much do they? And you might be able to check in online, but you'll still need to go to the desk at the airport to check the bike in.

And 5kg hold luggage as csiman said...

Up to 8 pieces of checked-in hold baggage to a maximum combined weight of 20kg. Each piece of checked-in hold baggage will incur a fee, which is payable online or at the airport at a higher charge. A ]fee per kilo for excess weight is charged at the airport prior to departure

An additional non-refundable fee is charged per item per flight for the carriage of the above items as ]set out in our carrier’s regulations.
Payment of the additional fee increases your checked-in hold baggage allowance (including additional item) to a maximum weight of 32kg.
Where your total checked-in hold baggage weighs more than 32kgs, normal excess baggage charges as ]set out in our carrier’s regulations shall apply in addition to the above fee.
Please note that sporting equipment fees will not be refunded if you change your mind and decide not to carry sporting equipment on your flight.

Its £10 per kg excess charge above 20kg so if your hold luggage and bike comes to 50kg then you will have to pay an excess charge of £300

The bike weighs 8kg, but with packaging and case it adds up to 20kg...

I thought your aloud 32kg for the bike, 20kg for the hold luggage - but it must add up to less then 50kg (which is the max per passenger for hold and sporting equipment) and 1 piece of hand luggage which only restriction is the size and that you can lift it up.

You can check-in a bike up to 32kgs weight. Bikes come under "sporting equipment" in Easyjet's regulations, the fee for this is £18.50 if pre-booked, or £26 at the check-in desk

you still pay £10 per kg for anything above your total allowance of 32kg for hold luggage after paying £18.50 for the bike

I cannot recall it ever being 5kg.
.

Most empty carry on bags weigh about 3kg.;-)

If you have a problem with Easyjet, don't keep your feelings bottled up inside, make sure you express them aloud.

Why on earth would any person want to take a bike on an aircraft, the sort of person who puts a bike on a train, no doubt.
Why not RIDE the bloody thing!!.

Maybe they had a triathlon or a racing bike competition somewhere they couldn't ride to?? pointless comment really!!
