    ebay advice please!

I sold some even tickets about 10 days ago, i clearly put on the listing the tickets haven't been dispatched to me yet and would send via special delivery when they get to me. Now the person who bought them said they are opening a dispute because they haven't received them.
What will happen I've never had a dispute opened against me, who will paypal find in favour and what will happen as the funds are no longer in my paypal. Please help!
I have sent a message back to the person saying i will forward a copy of the booking confirmation to them for piece of mind and that it clearly states in listing that i haven't received the tickets yet but got no response as of yet.

so when might you receive the tickets?

if funds are not in paypal, they will take the amount from your linked bank account. Buyer will win dispute as they havent received the tickets as of now (regardless of what your ebay description states).

Ebay is full of muppets, wouldn't of sold them until you were closer to the date myself.

I thought eBay items had to be dispatched within 30 days of the end of the auction (i.e for pre-order items etc). Will you have the tickets within 30 days??

the nearer you get to the date the less they are worth in my experience, those that go on sale on the day of release can make you a fortune if it's a sold out event, sell them in the same week of the gig and you are lucky to get your money back, which is useful when buying tickets

I dont know when the tickets will be dispatched it just says it could be any time up to 7 days before the event and i didnt realise you had to send item within 30 days, theres more of the same event on there so other people must be doing the same. Will i get charged or anything for not having funds in my paypal?

No wasn't out to make a profit at all, i bought 4 tickets 2 for me and partner and 2 for friend and partner but they are now moving to America in the new year and needed the money back as soon as possible. Was the only place to sell them to get money back quick.

Yep, you've got to post them within 30 days of the end of the auction, or else the buyer can claim back their money:

they will take the money from your bank account so your bank will charge you if the funds are not available. Then paypal give you a set time to pay up before moving it to the debt agancies.

ticket agencies are now releasing tickets nearer the event date to stop profiteering as you wont have enough time to receive the tickets, sell them and post them out. Good idea if you ask me.

Trouble is 9/10 buyers don't care that they don't get their tickets until late, which is a scammers dream. OP's buyer is obviously a bit more switched on than most.

Paypal will always find in favour of the buyer - it's how they roll. Trust me, even if you are in the right, they will side against you. It's just another move by eBay to weed out the personal sellers and turn eBay into a place for big business. You are in the wrong in this case though sadly. If you have no money in your account it will go into deficit, Paypal will then get very nasty and start to threaten you. 2 options - pay up or fight them like I did in small claims court. Paypal are nothing but crooks and I have a win to prove it.

Look at it from the buyers point of view, They have forty days from the date of purchase to raise a dispute and if they waited until after that date they would have no come back at all if you decided not to send the tickets,

They shouldnt have bought them then. OP states she put in auction they are not in hand.

Having said that PP will rule in their favour. Although wont take from your Bank Account. Your PP account will go into negative figures until you settle up. If you dont settle up the deficit, they will issue proceedings against you.

depends how seller worded it. It might have read that they were on their way in the post to seller at the time of auction.

Just out of curiosity why is it a scammers dream to get tickets later?

Unfortunately for you I'd put the funds back in your paypal account and refund the buyer. You could always come to some sort of agreement that once you get them in hand they can re-buy them if they want to.

Because if your buyer hadn't had insisted they were delivered within 45 days you could have kept the tickets and the money and the time limit for a dispute would have expired so the buyer could not have made a claim. Many scammers do this and make a fortune.

Have you pulled the buyers contact details and phoned them to offer reassurance....it may not work if they have bought them cheaper elsewhere though and are just looking to get out of the deal.

Think we have sorted it now, have sent the confirmation e-mail so they can track the tickets themselves, dont think they would have got them cheaper elsewhere, only made £5 after sellers fees, put them on really cheap compared to other prices on there, they sold within 10 mins of listing. Thanks again guys
