Hey guys,
Just picking ur brains so to speak but I bidded today for a quinny Buzz which is listed as new. It comes with the carry cot and the pushchair which usually retails at around £600
I won with just over £200. there was no picture and she had spelt it slightly wrong - presuming thats why i won? She has a feedback of 80 somthing thats 100 per cent positive but had not traded for 2 years. I cant pick it up as she lives miles away. would u go for it and pay by paypal or make a 4 hour trip to get it hmmm is it too good to be true? Just dont know..
Any thoughts welcomed....

either way your covered..by paypal or if you collect you dont have to pay and she cant leave you negative either way. Personally i would pay by paypal and wait for it to arrive.

you could always phone her/him and have a chat about picking it up and person, that way you would be able to gauge from the conversation whether it is a rip off or not or like above says pay through paypal as you are covered.

how about send a courier to pick up?

Paypal will cover you up to £500, but if you send the money and they empty there account you might be stuck. I'd personally pay and wait.

P.S dont worry about the spelling you spelt Thanks wrong lol:oops::thumbsup:

if picking something up, pay by cash only, and only when seen it.. otherwise paypal

in my experience, miss spelled items always go cheaper than if spelt correctly as don't come up in search

Maybe she listed it as New because the new ebay rules say you cant say in title : As new ?

If you opened a dispute and won and the seller had no money in paypal, paypal CANNOT take money from their (or anyones) bank account, all that happenes is whenever the seller gets any money into their account, its taken right away towards the amount they owe, so you could be waiting a while for refund...

I'm suspicious by nature, but if you reverse the situation and you had a brand new, unopened item worth £600, would you let it go for £200 just because you were past the 30 days for returning?

I'm not 100% sure about how claiming from Paypal works, but if it's linked directly to bank accounts and money can be taken regardless, then why do some people have negative balances and get threatened with court action? Surely that would indicate they can't just take money out of peoples bank accounts regardless, and I'm sure people on here have posted that they've had replies where Paypal have said something along the lines of 'oh you're due your money back but we can't get it out of their bank account so you'll get your money when we get it' type thing.

It is a lot of money to risk, but could you not make a weekend trip out of it and go somewhere nice and pick that up on the way back?

I bet we/I have scared Bethy more than helped lol
